Regularly in three-year intervals, the series of events, Colloquia for High
Velocity Oxy-Fuel Flame Spraying, presents the current status of HVOF
technology. The spectrum of topics covers everything from basics to component
applications. Based on the latest findings by researchers and practitioners, new
developments and processes are examined and the latest application possibilities
are demonstrated. Further topic blocks address such areas as spray materials,
the post-treatment of coatings and process control. Depending on the needs at
the time, theoretical issues such as quality assurance, standardization or legal
requirements may also be covered. The HVOF Colloquium is particularly aimed at
HVOF experts or thermal sprayers in general, but is also of interest to
engineers and businesses looking for surface treatment solutions.
The colloquium is complemented by an exhibition which takes place directly
adjacent to the auditorium and serves as a backdrop for the breaks, buffet meals
and evening event. So visitors and exhibitors alike can meet and talk in a
convivial atmosphere.
Since 1997 the venue of the HVOF colloquium: Stadthalle Erding
(Civic Hall in Erding), east of Munich and close to Munich Airport.
The history of the HVOF colloquia began in 1988 when a small group of Jet-Kote
users was invited by Peter Heinrich to meet at the Linde company in Pullach,
Germany. The second
colloquium in Munich in 1989, organized by Linde, SLV Munich and the
University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, was literally overrun by a
turnout of 270 participants. Five years passed before the 3rd HVOF Colloquium
took place in Ingolstadt, with GTS as co-organizer this time. During the years
that followed, the colloquium took place regularly every three years in Erding
near Munich and GTS was responsible for its administration.
