René Wasserman Award 2008 – the awards ceremony with a surprise in store

The presentation of the René Wasserman Award which is conferred every 3 years at the ITSC in Europe is a grand occasion for GTS.

The René Wasserman Award is bestowed on an innovative thermal spray enterprise which must fulfil stringent criteria both on an economic as well as on a social level (see box below).

Conferment of the René Wasserman Award 2008:
F.l.t.r: The winners Claudia Hofmann and Jochen Rybak (Rybak + Höschele RHV-Technik GmbH) and Nelso Antolotti (Eurocoating S.p.A.), Christopher Wasserman (TeroLab Surface Group SA) and Peter Heinrich (Linde / GTS).

The initiator Christopher Wasserman, President of the TeroLab Surface Group SA (TLS), donated this prize to the value of 10,000 Swiss Francs along with an extremely noble sculpture designed by the well-known artist Rudy Rahme from Beirut, Lebanon.

This year’s four finalists competed on a very high level and fulfilled the required criteria with flying colours. And so for the jury, comprising members of the GTS Executive Board, the final decision was unexpectedly difficult. When, after lengthy debate, still no decision had been reached, Christopher Wasserman spontaneously decided to present the René Wasserman Award 2008 to two winning companies under the same conditions.

The two winners in 2008 are:
Rybak + Höschele RHV-Technik in Waiblingen (D)
Eurocoating S.p.A. in Ciré-Pergine (I)

My sincere congratulations on this outstanding achievement.

Peter Heinrich
